A group of researchers at Stanford University have shown that ‘texting tips’ sent to parents may have a positive impact on young children’s learning abilities! Parents received text messages promoting engagement in fun literacy related activities and the results are promising. When compared to a control group of parents , parents that received literacy tips-by-text were engaging in literacy activities more frequently with their children. In addition, these parents were seeking input from early childhood educators regarding child growth.
